One balance pays
for every tool.
Official servers are free. House servers cost whole cr per call, and the publisher of a paid tool keeps 95% of it. You do not open an account per tool or pay a subscription.
Stakers pay with the allowance the network sends them each day, so a busy network pays for your agent's calls. How the allowance works →

Official servers and the terminal, with nothing to pay.

Prices are set per listing and pinned onchain with it. A publisher changes a price by publishing a new listing version.
How credits work
Bought at par
buy(usdg) mints 1,000 cr per USDG. The USDG stays in the Credits contract, which has no withdraw function.
Spent at par
A paid call burns its cr and releases the matching USDG: 95% to the publisher, 5% to the protocol split.
Not redeemable
Holders cannot turn cr back into USDG at the contract. They can transfer it, and sell it below par on the credit book in the next release.
Signed per call
The gateway signs one EIP-3009 authorization per call, valid 120 seconds, for that amount, to the Meter only.
Settled in batches
The facilitator settles every 30 seconds. One Receipt event per call, with the hash of the request and the response.
Inference included
The house infer server runs an open-weights 8B model on Daemon's own GPU for 2 cr per 1,000 tokens.
Pay in USDG
Any paid tool also takes USDG directly, with the same authorization and the same split. Credits only make small calls cheaper to sign and let stakers spend their allowance.

Questions
Does Daemon charge for GitHub or Supabase?
No. Official third-party servers are free listings. Your own token for them stays on your machine and only goes to their endpoint.
What if a call fails?
Its authorization is never submitted and expires after 120 seconds. Only calls that returned a result are settled.
Is the allowance a fixed rate?
No. It is what the network paid that day: 2.5% of all paid volume plus the creator fees, split by stake-seconds.
Can I use it from any agent?
Yes. The gateway speaks MCP over stdio, and the x402 client served from this site pays any metered tool from any framework.
Official servers cost nothing, and you start with one command.
