Quickstart
Install the terminal, plug one server into your editor, then make a first paid call.
Install
The terminal is a single file served from this site. It installs into ~/.daemon/bin and needs Node 20 or newer. Nothing is fetched from a package registry.
curl -fsSL https://daemonmcp.com/install.sh | shdaemon.mjs 0.1.0 sha256 e0d511dfd78a679b24da57267c2f40a13da4a52613048c63e37bc0095ff0e5eb
The binary is daemon, with a dmn alias. Debian and Ubuntu ship an unrelated package that installs /usr/bin/daemon; the installer warns you when that one comes first on your PATH, and dmn always works. The SHA-256 of every release is printed by the installer and listed in the log.
The first run creates a key in ~/.daemon/key. You need no wallet to start, and free servers need no balance at all.
Plug a server
--client accepts claude, cursor, vscode and windsurf. Daemon writes one entry, daemon mcp, into the client's MCP config. Every server you plug later appears behind that same entry, so you restart the editor once.
First paid call
- Buy credits:
daemon buy 2turns 2 USDG into 2,000 cr. Stakers can skip this and use their daily allowance. - Ask your agent for something a paid tool answers, for example the latest 8-K from NVDA.
- The gateway signs one authorization for 2 cr, the call runs, and the receipt shows in
daemon psand on the data page within about 30 seconds.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
daemon | Opens the TUI: Servers, Plugged, Balance, Stake, ps. |
daemon plug <server> [--client c] | Adds a server behind the gateway and writes the client config. |
daemon unplug <server> | Removes it. |
daemon buy <usdg> | Buys cr at par, 1 USDG for 1,000 cr. |
daemon stake <server> <amount> | Stakes $DMN behind one server. |
daemon spawn | Burns 100,000 $DMN and starts a daemon. |
daemon ps / daemon kill <pid> | Lists processes; retires one of your own. |
daemon mcp | The stdio gateway your editor runs. You never call it by hand. |
