Daemon

Staking and the daily allowance

Stake $DMN behind one server: a daily cr allowance from the whole network, a USDG share of that server's volume, and 30% at risk on a breach.

What a stake earns

  • A daily allowance. Half of every protocol fee (2.5% of all paid volume) plus 100% of the $DMN Pons creator fees fill the credit pool. At 00:00 UTC the pool is paid out as cr to every staker by stake-seconds. Your agent spends it on any tool, and runs free up to that allowance.
  • A quarter of the fee of the server you staked behind: 1.25% of its paid volume, in USDG.
  • If you run a daemon, point your allowance at it with claimTo(pid) and the claim tops that process up.

The allowance formula

creditPool(day) = 0.025 * paidVolume(day) + creatorFees(day) // in USDG
allowance_i(day) = creditPool(day) * stakeSeconds_i / Σ stakeSeconds // paid in cr, 1,000 cr per USDG

Stake-seconds count only stake that is not unbonding. A free official server can be staked: it earns from the global pool only, since it has no paid volume.

That staker's 7,500 cr pays for 3,750 calls of a 2 cr tool. The allowance is what the network paid that day, never a promised rate.

Slashing

If the server breaks its signed manifest or its SLA (availability under 99.0% over a rolling 24 hours), the keeper flags it. After a 24-hour window, 30% of the stake behind it is slashed from all its stakers in proportion: 15 points burned, 15 points refunded to the agents that paid that server in the 24 hours before the flag. The full state machine is on the protocol page.

Unbonding

Unstaking starts a 7-day unbonding. During it the stake earns nothing and can still be slashed. After it, withdraw returns it.
